Investigation of the sustainment, development and support of intercountry adoptee communities
The aim of the Trust is to provide an opportunity to Australians to travel overseas to conduct research in their chosen field. It also aims to reward individuals who possess passion and a commitment to make a difference in Australian society.
There are no prescribed qualifications to apply for the Churchill Fellowship award. Australian citizens, from all walks of life, can apply for a Churchill Fellowship. The topic of the proposed project is limitless, provided benefit to Australia is evident and a willingness to share the findings with the Australian community is displayed.
I was accepted into the 2025 cohort and my fellowship seeks to investigate some of the world's most mature adoptee organisations, how they've developed consistent programs and events, and what their communities value the most.
As an extension of of this, I am also seeking to understand what support services (counselling, peer spaces, the arts, cultural tours, birth family search support etc) are providing the biggest impacts to helping our unique and diverse needs.
